The label AND_i (Andreas Eberharter) has created a key chain for the MuseumsQuartier Wien. The special feature of the design lies in the different execution of the two letters of the logo – one letter is raised, one is openwork. The aim of the creative process was to create a product that represents the simplicity and modernity of the MQ art space.
After training as a goldsmith and sculptor, Andreas Eberharter began his career as an assistant to Austrian artists Anna Heindl, Manfred Wakolbinger and Eva Schlegel. He has been working as a freelance artist in Vienna since 1992 and founded the AND_i label in 2001, which has already won numerous awards such as the Vienna Awards for Fashion & Lifestyle (“best accessories designer” / 2010, “best designer branding” / 2012) and the Mercur Innovation Award (“creativity” / 2011). AND_i attracted international attention with its participation in the Thierry Mugler Men Show in 2009. When Lady Gaga wore an eye patch from the Austrian label in her video “Paparazzi”, the piece became a cult object.
Andreas Eberharter’s approach to art products is sculptural. He seeks a free approach to formal language and new materials. The result is striking, strong and clear in design. His jewelry and accessories are now among the must-haves of the international fashion scene, with stars such as Milla Jovovich, Kiera Chaplin, Kesha, Kat Graham, Tarkan, Beyoncé, Peaches Geldof and Lindsay Lohan.
